Chongching is at the upper end of the "Three Gorges" area of the Yangtze River. It is a large city in the heart of China, and is where we found a very traditional Chinese culture of today. Unlike the ultra-modern Shanghai, Chongching has traditional architecture and its markets and people have less "Western" influence.
Chongching is its markets and its people. These pictures take us back to one of our best days of experiencing other cultures. The friendly people and "foreign" foods were amazing.
In the free market (below) the eel comes live, and then the eel-man will slice it up for you, fresh as can be!
