ABU SIMBEL
|
Abu Simbel is the site of the Temples of Ramses II and Nefertari (below and below right). These temples were originally carved out of the mountainside, but were cut into 2000 blocks and moved in the 70's when the high dam was built, flooding the original site under Lake Nasser. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
